Rust Geometric Print Crepe Suit

A rust unstitched suit set in printed crepe, with zari and pattra work at the neckline and a matching crepe dupatta edged in gold lace on all four sides. The shirt piece is 2.75 metres, with extra fabric for sleeves, and the set can be stitched up to size 8XL.

What's Included

  • Shirt: Crepe — 2.75 m, with extra fabric for sleeves
  • Bottom: Taffeta — 2.5 m
  • Dupatta: Crepe — 2.5 m long, 29 inches wide

Please note: Lining fabric is not included and needs to be purchased separately.

Stitchable up to 8XL

The shirt piece is 2.75 metres rather than the usual 2.5, with the extra fabric allowed for sleeves. That is what lets this set be stitched up to size 8XL — most unstitched suits stop at 5XL simply because there is not enough cloth to go further.

Design Details

  • Zari work at the neckline, set with pattra work
  • Printed geometric design in rust across the shirt and dupatta
  • Deep printed border along the shirt hem
  • Floral butas scattered through the dupatta
  • Gold lace running along all four sides of the dupatta

This is Pattra Work, Not Mirror Work

Pattra work is small metal plates stitched onto the fabric. It catches light the way mirrors do, which is exactly why the two get confused — but they are not the same thing. Mirror work uses glass held in a ring of thread; this uses metal.

We are being specific because a listing that says mirror work sets an expectation, and this suit does not meet it. What it does have is a reflective neckline detail that behaves much like mirror work and costs less.

The pattra work is at the neckline only — not across the shirt.

About the Fabrics

Crepe holds a print well and drapes softly without clinging, which suits a piece where the print is doing most of the work. The bottom is taffeta, which gives a stitched salwar or trouser more body than crepe would on its own.

Stitching & Size

This is an unstitched suit set, so you can have it tailored exactly to your measurements. The fabric can be stitched up to size 8XL. Point out the neckline work to your tailor before cutting, so the neck is shaped around it.

Occasion

Made for wedding functions and festive occasions, and a good choice for Karva Chauth — for the sargi morning or the evening itself. The set also suits mehendi, sangeet, pujas and family gatherings.

Care

Dry clean only. Store folded in a soft cotton bag, away from direct sunlight. Never iron over the pattra work — metal conducts heat and will scorch the fabric around it. Press the plain areas only, and keep clear of the neckline.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this suit stitched or unstitched?
It is unstitched. You receive the shirt, bottom and dupatta fabric, which you can get tailored to your own measurements.

What is the largest size this can be stitched to?
Size 8XL. The shirt piece is 2.75 metres with extra fabric for sleeves, which is what allows the larger sizes.

How much fabric is in the shirt piece?
2.75 metres, which includes extra fabric for sleeves.

What size is the dupatta?
2.5 metres long and 29 inches wide.

Do you have plus size unstitched suits?
Yes. This set can be stitched up to 8XL, where most unstitched suits stop at 5XL.

Is the design printed or embroidered?
The design on the shirt and dupatta is printed. The zari and pattra work at the neckline is the worked element.

Is this mirror work?
No. It is pattra work — small metal plates stitched onto the fabric. It reflects light like mirror work, which is why the two are often confused, but mirror work uses glass and this uses metal.

Where is the pattra work?
At the neckline of the shirt only, worked together with the zari.

What fabric is this suit made from?
The shirt and dupatta are crepe, and the bottom is taffeta.

Does the dupatta have lace on all sides?
Yes. Gold lace runs along all four sides.

Is lining included with this suit?
No. Lining fabric is not included and needs to be purchased separately.

Is this suit suitable for Karva Chauth?
Yes. It works for the sargi morning or for wearing on the day, and also suits weddings and festive gatherings.

Can I iron this suit?
Not over the pattra work — metal conducts heat and will scorch the fabric around it. Press the plain areas only.

How should I care for this suit?
Dry clean only, and tell your cleaner the neckline carries metal pattra work.
