Butter yellow, and why it works on cotton

Butter yellow is the soft, creamy end of yellow — nowhere near mustard or marigold. It has been everywhere this year, mostly in georgette and organza, where it can look slightly synthetic.

On mul cotton it reads differently: a matte, natural surface takes a pale colour without the sheen that makes it look artificial. This is butter yellow in a fabric that suits it.

Embroidery on a fabric you can wear in heat

Mul is the finest, lightest cotton weave we stock — soft and genuinely breathable. Worked cotton for real heat is an unusual combination, and it is the reason this sits at the higher end of our mul range.

It creases, as fine cotton does, and it softens with every wash.

Who this suit is for

Daytime functions in warm weather — a haldi, a lunch, a morning event. Pale enough to feel light, worked enough not to look plain.

Not the one if you are hard on your clothes. Butter yellow shows marks and the thread work means dry clean only. For a cotton you can wash at home, our Rozana suits are the better answer.

Stitching is a separate service, charged on top of the fabric price. Message us with what you need and we will confirm the cost and the timeline. Stitched orders take 7–15 working days before dispatch.

Care

Dry clean only. Mul cotton on its own could take a gentle hand wash, but thread embroidery cannot — it pulls, and colours can bleed onto a pale ground where there is nothing to absorb them.

Never iron directly over the thread work — press around it, or from the reverse with a cloth in between.
