Hand-stitched kantha, machine-printed kalamkari

Both halves, stated plainly, because they are not the same thing.

The kantha is hand-stitched. Kantha is a running-stitch tradition from Bengal — rows of small stitches worked across the cloth by hand. It is what makes this dupatta worth more than a printed one, and you can feel it under your fingers.

The kalamkari print is machine printed. Not hand block. We say so because most listings would let you assume otherwise, and because the hand-stitched claim means more when we are honest about the part that is not.

This is an office suit

Linen in denim blue is about as close as Indian wear gets to a work shirt — practical, unfussy, and quietly formal without being stiff. It does not read festive, and that is the point.

Most unstitched suits are sold for weddings. If you need something to actually work in through a hot season, there is very little made for you. This is.

What linen does, and what it does not

Linen is breathable and absorbent, it dries fast, and it holds itself away from the skin rather than clinging — which is why it is the best fabric there is for heat.

It also creases, readily and visibly. That is linen. It is not a fault, it will not stop, and no finish prevents it. If crisp is what you need every hour of the day, buy cotton instead.

Stitching

Stitching is a separate service, charged on top of the fabric price. Message us with what you need and we will confirm the cost and the timeline. Stitched orders take 7–15 working days before dispatch.

Care

Dry clean only. Linen needs it, and the hand kantha will pull in a home wash.

Never iron directly over the kantha stitching — press around it, or from the reverse with a cloth in between. Linen irons best while slightly damp.
