All three pieces are cotton

Worth saying, because it is unusual at this price. Most suits in this range pair a cotton shirt with a synthetic bottom — taffeta or santoon — because it is cheaper. Here the bottom and dupatta are cotton too, so the whole set breathes.

No lining needed

The cotton is opaque enough to wear on its own. That saves you a layer, saves you heat in summer, and saves you a line on your tailoring bill.

Grey is the one that goes everywhere

Grey behaves like a neutral without being beige. It takes silver and oxidised jewellery cleanly, it does not belong to a season, and it does not compete with a print the way a strong colour does — which is why a floral reads clearly on it rather than fighting the ground.

It is also forgiving in daily wear, which a pale cotton is not.

How to wash it

Hand wash in cold water with a mild detergent. Dry in shade. Wash separately the first time.

Some colour releases on the first wash. Washing it alone that first time is the whole precaution. After that it settles, and the cotton softens with each wash rather than wearing out.

Hand wash only, cold water, mild detergent. Dry in shade. Wash separately the first time. Iron on medium while slightly damp.
