Hot Pink Block Print Cotton Suit
This is a hot pink cotton suit with a block print, supplied as a 3-piece set with a plain cotton dupatta. It needs no lining, can be hand washed at home, and is stitchable to your own measurement up to size 5XL. It is part of our Rozana collection — the everyday range.
What you receive
- Shirt — block printed cotton, 2.5 m
- Bottom — block printed cotton, 2.5 m
- Dupatta — plain cotton, 2.5 m
- 3-piece unstitched set, 7.5 metres in total
The block print
Block printing is one of the oldest patterning traditions in Indian textiles — a motif carved into a wooden block, inked, and stamped in repeat across the cloth. What distinguishes the look from a flat machine print is the character of the repeat: edges are a little softer, the ink sits with slight variation, and the pattern reads as made rather than manufactured.
The shirt and bottom carry the print. The dupatta is left plain, which keeps the set from becoming busy — with the pattern already running through two of the three pieces, a printed dupatta on top would be too much.
Hot pink for everyday
Hot pink is a confident colour, and this is a confident everyday suit. It is brighter than most things worn on an ordinary Tuesday, which is rather the point — there is no reason a weekday suit has to be beige.
It is also easier to wear than it sounds. A block print breaks the colour up across the cloth rather than presenting it as one solid block, so it reads as lively rather than loud. And it pairs simply: silver or oxidised jewellery, or gold if you want it warmer.
No lining needed
All three pieces are cotton, and the fabric is opaque enough to be stitched without a lining. That saves you buying extra fabric and paying your tailor to attach it, and it keeps a layer of heat off you in summer.
Hand washable at home
This suit does not need dry cleaning. Hand wash it in cold water with a mild detergent, and dry it in shade rather than direct sun. For a suit you will wear often, that is the difference between something you reach for and something that waits for a trip to the cleaner.
Where it fits in your week
An office day, errands, a school run, a family lunch, a kitty party, a Gurudwara Sahib visit, an ordinary afternoon. Stitch the shirt as a straight-cut with palazzo for the easiest everyday shape, or as an A-line with churidar if you prefer something more traditional.
Stitching this suit
The suit is supplied unstitched, so the neckline, sleeve length and fit are yours to decide. It can be stitched up to size 5XL. With a repeating print, a simpler cut usually works better — heavy panelling interrupts the repeat. StudioJazz offers a stitching service; share what you have in mind and we will discuss it with you. Unstitched orders are dispatched within 48 working hours; stitched orders take 7 to 15 working days depending on the work involved.
Care
Hand wash only, in cold water with a mild detergent. Dry in shade rather than direct sunlight — sunlight is harder on a printed cotton than washing is, and a strong pink fades faster than a muted colour. Wash separately the first time, as bright cotton prints can release a little dye on the first wash.
Shipping
Dispatched within 48 working hours of order confirmation and delivered across India in 3 to 7 business days. Free shipping on orders above Rs. 1,500. StudioJazz has shipped to 13 countries; international shipping is available on request.
A note on colour and print
Natural variation in colour and print placement is characteristic of block printing and is not a defect. Slight irregularity in the repeat is inherent to the technique rather than a fault, and print placement on your piece may differ from the photographs.
Frequently asked questions
What is block printing?
A motif is carved into a wooden block, inked and stamped in repeat across the cloth. The look is softer-edged than a flat machine print, with slight variation in how the ink sits.
Which pieces are printed?
The shirt and bottom carry the block print. The dupatta is plain cotton.
Why is the dupatta plain?
With the print already running through two of the three pieces, a printed dupatta on top would make the set busy. A plain dupatta lets the print do its work.
Does this suit need a lining?
No. All three pieces are cotton and the fabric is opaque enough to stitch without one — saving you the lining fabric and the tailoring to attach it.
Can I wash this at home?
Yes. Hand wash in cold water with a mild detergent and dry in shade. This suit does not need dry cleaning.
What fabric is it?
Cotton — shirt, bottom and dupatta.
What's included and how much fabric?
Three pieces of 2.5 metres each — shirt, bottom and dupatta — 7.5 metres in total.
Is this suitable for summer?
Yes. It is cotton, it needs no lining, and it carries no heavy surface work — three things that keep a suit cool through a long day.
Will the pink fade?
A strong pink fades faster than a muted colour. Dry and store in shade, and wash separately the first time as bright cotton prints can release a little dye initially.
Is this a festive suit or an everyday one?
Everyday. It is part of our Rozana collection, made for regular wear rather than occasions.
Can this be stitched to my size?
It can be stitched up to size 5XL, and the neckline, sleeve length and fit are yours to choose.
Do you stitch it, and what does that cost?
Yes, StudioJazz offers stitching. Charges depend on the design and the amount of work involved — message us and we will confirm the cost before you proceed.
Do you ship internationally?
StudioJazz has shipped to 13 countries. International shipping is available on request — message us with your location before ordering.
