Where the print sits

The block print is on the bottom and dupatta; the shirt is plain hot pink. That arrangement is deliberate rather than economical — a strong colour like this would fight with an allover print, and a plain shirt lets the colour do the work while the print frames it.

This is genuine hand block print

Carved wooden blocks, inked and pressed onto the cloth by hand, one impression at a time. Not a screen, not a roller.

Expect slight irregularity in the repeat and small variations in colour. That is the method showing, not a fault. A machine print would be flawless and would cost less.

No lining needed

The cotton is opaque enough to wear on its own. That saves you a layer, saves you heat in summer, and saves you a line on your tailoring bill.

Hot pink, honestly

This is a loud colour and there is no point pretending otherwise. It photographs vividly, it does not recede, and it is the first thing anyone will notice.

If you reach for neutrals, this is not your suit. Our ice blue or night blue cottons will suit you far better.

How to wash it

Hand wash in cold water with a mild detergent. Dry in shade. Wash separately the first time.

Strong pinks release colour readily, and block printed cotton more than machine print. Washing it alone that first time is the whole precaution. Shade-drying matters: hot pink fades faster in direct sun than almost any other colour.
