Indigo and green

Indigo is a deep blue with a slightly inky depth to it — darker than navy and cooler than royal. Paired with green it stays in the cool half of the spectrum, which is why the combination reads calm rather than busy.

It is also dark enough to be genuinely practical. Indigo takes a working day without showing it.

How to wash it

Hand wash in cold water with a mild detergent. Dry in shade. Wash separately the first time.

Indigo is famous for releasing colour, and this one will on its first wash. Washing it alone that first time is the whole precaution — after that it settles, and like all good indigo it softens and mellows rather than simply fading.

Keep it out of direct sun. Indigo lifts faster in sunlight than most dyes.

Who this suit is for

Daily wear — work, errands, visiting, the ordinary days. A plain cotton suit in a colour that does most of the work for you.
