Ivory linen suit with a kalamkari printed dupatta and hand-stitched kantha — unstitched 3-piece. You receive the fabric pieces, not a finished garment. Shirt, bottom and dupatta, 2.5 metres each, ready for your tailor.

What you get

  • Shirt: linen — 2.5 m
  • Bottom: taffeta — 2.5 m
  • Dupatta: linen, kalamkari printed, with hand-stitched kantha — 2.5 m
  • Colour: ivory
  • Stitchable to size 5XL

The hand work is the kantha, not the print

The kantha is hand-stitched. Kantha is a running-stitch tradition from Bengal — rows of small stitches worked across the cloth by hand. On an ivory ground it shows as texture and shadow rather than colour, which is the most flattering way to see it.

The kalamkari print is machine printed, not hand block. We separate the two because a listing that says "hand-stitched" and "kalamkari" in one breath invites you to assume both were done by hand. Only one was.

Ivory linen is the difficult, useful choice

Difficult because an ivory ground shows everything and linen creases in a way that is visible from across a room. Useful because ivory linen is the most versatile thing in a warm-weather wardrobe — it works for the office, for a daytime function, and for the days in between, and it takes any jewellery you own.

Our denim blue version of this suit is the more purely practical one. This is the version you buy when you want it to go further than work.

What linen does, and what it does not

Linen is breathable and absorbent, it dries fast, and it holds itself away from the skin rather than clinging — which is why it is the best fabric there is for heat.

It also creases, readily and visibly. That is linen. It is not a fault and no finish prevents it. If crisp is what you need all day, cotton is the better answer.

Stitching

Stitching is a separate service, charged on top of the fabric price. Message us with what you need and we will confirm the cost and the timeline. Stitched orders take 7–15 working days before dispatch.

Care

Dry clean only. Linen needs it, the hand kantha will pull in a home wash, and an ivory ground shows every mark a bad wash leaves behind.

Never iron directly over the kantha stitching — press around it, or from the reverse with a cloth in between. Linen irons best while slightly damp.

Delivery

Ready stock, dispatched within 48 working hours. Delivery in 3–7 business days across India with a tracking link. Shipping is calculated at checkout for orders under ₹3,000. Cash on Delivery is available at a flat ₹150.

Frequently asked questions

Is the kantha embroidery done by hand?

Yes. Hand-stitched kantha — rows of running stitch worked across the dupatta by hand, in the Bengali tradition.

Is the kalamkari hand block printed?

No. The kalamkari print is machine printed. The hand work on this piece is the kantha.

What is kantha?

A running-stitch embroidery tradition from Bengal — small, closely spaced stitches worked in rows across the fabric.

How does this compare to your denim blue version?

Same fabrics, same hand kantha, same price. Denim blue is the workwear option; ivory is more versatile but far less forgiving to keep clean.

What are the fabrics?

Linen for the shirt and dupatta, taffeta for the bottom.

Does linen crease?

Yes, readily and visibly. That is the nature of the fabric, not a defect.

Is ivory practical?

Less forgiving than a dark colour — it shows marks, and it is dry clean only. It is chosen for versatility rather than for easy upkeep.

Can I wash this at home?

No. Dry clean only — linen needs it and the hand kantha will pull.

Can I iron it?

Not over the kantha stitching. Press around it, or from the reverse through a cloth. Linen irons best slightly damp.

How much fabric is included?

2.5 metres each for the shirt, bottom and dupatta.

Is this suit stitched?

No, it is unstitched — three fabric pieces. Stitching is available from us as a separate paid service.

What is the largest size it can be stitched to?

5XL.

Is shipping free on this suit?

No. Free shipping starts at ₹3,000 prepaid and this suit is ₹2,100, so shipping is calculated at checkout.

Is Cash on Delivery available?

Yes, at a flat ₹150 charge.

Can I return it if I change my mind?

No. We do not accept returns for change of mind. Claims are limited to a manufacturing defect, transit damage, or the wrong item being sent, with a 360° unboxing video sent to care@studiojazzldh.com within 24 hours of delivery. Approved claims are settled as store credit valid 12 months, not a monetary refund.
