Machine embroidery, said plainly

The work on this suit is machine embroidered, not hand-worked. We say so because we do carry hand-embroidered pieces and we would rather you could tell the difference between our own products than assume they are all the same.

Machine work is even, consistent and considerably cheaper. Hand work is irregular, slower and costs more. Neither is better in the abstract — they are different things at different prices, and you should know which one you are buying.

About muslin

Muslin is a fine, soft, loosely woven cotton — light on the skin and genuinely comfortable in heat, with a slightly textured surface that takes print well. The dupatta is muslin too, so it drapes as softly as the shirt.

It is a delicate fabric and not one to be rough with. The bottom is taffeta, which gives a salwar or trouser more body than muslin would.

Mustard

Warm and earthy rather than bright — it has more depth than a yellow and it holds up against daylight and dust in a way pale colours do not. On a printed muslin that matters, because it is a suit meant to be worn rather than saved.

Who this suit is for

Festive daywear and warm-weather occasions — a puja, a family lunch, a daytime function. Light enough for heat, printed enough not to look plain.

Stitching

Stitching is a separate service, charged on top of the fabric price. Message us with what you need and we will confirm the cost and the timeline. Stitched orders take 7–15 working days before dispatch.

Care

Dry clean only. Muslin is delicate and the embroidery pulls in a home wash. Never iron directly over the embroidery — press around it, or from the reverse with a cloth in between.
