Worth saying plainly, because the name misleads. Butter crepe is a soft, finely textured crepe with a smooth matte surface and good drape — the name describes how it feels, not what colour it is. This suit is navy blue.

What ambi means

Ambi is the paisley motif — the curved, mango-shaped form that runs through Indian textile design. It is one of the oldest motifs still in everyday use, and it reads as traditional without being formal.

The dupatta is the piece that does the work

Chiffon, with a red organza lace trim. Against a navy shirt the red is a deliberate contrast rather than a match — it is what stops the set reading as plain, and it is why the dupatta is worth draping properly rather than folding over one shoulder.
