Design Details
- Banarasi weaving across the shirt in a flowing gold jaal of vines and blossoms
- Dabka handwork at the neckline, worked as a fine V-shaped panel
- Woven border along the shirt hem
- Dupatta with gold woven buti motifs and Banarasi borders on all four sides
The Dabka Work
Dabka is a coiled metallic wire, couched onto the fabric by hand. It gives a raised, defined line with a soft matte shine that flat thread cannot produce. Here it is kept to the neckline, so the Banarasi weave carries the rest of the shirt without the two competing.
Stitching & Size
This is an unstitched suit set, so you can have it tailored exactly to your measurements. The fabric can be stitched up to size 5XL. The shirt piece is 3 metres rather than the usual 2.5, which gives your tailor extra room for a longer kurta or fuller sleeves.
Occasion
Made for festive occasions — Navratri, the sargi morning, pujas, family gatherings and wedding functions. Soft pink with gold reads as dressy without being loud.
Care
Dry clean only. Store folded in a soft cotton bag, away from direct sunlight. Use a low-heat iron with a pressing cloth, and never iron directly over the dabka work.
