Two shades of the same family

Maroon on pink is a tonal pairing rather than a contrast — the print sits in the same colour family as the ground, a few steps deeper. It reads softer than a print in a different colour would, and it is more forgiving on a working day than pink on its own.

No lining needed

The cotton is opaque enough to wear on its own — one less layer, one less line on the tailoring bill.

How to wash it

Hand wash in cold water with a mild detergent. Dry in shade. Wash separately the first time.

Pink fades faster in direct sun than most colours, so shade-drying matters here. Some colour releases on the first wash; washing it alone that first time is the whole precaution.
