Thread work, not applique

The work here is thread embroidery — stitched into the cloth. It is not applique, which is a different technique entirely: cut fabric shapes laid on top and stitched down, giving raised layers rather than worked stitching.

We separate the two because they look different, feel different and cost different amounts, and the words get used interchangeably across the market.

Mul Chanderi is not mul cotton

The two get used interchangeably and they are not the same cloth. Mul Chanderi carries the fine, slightly translucent quality of Chanderi weaving with the lightness of mul — a soft sheen that plain mul cotton does not have, and a little more structure.

The sheen is what gives embroidery thread something to catch, which is why worked pieces are made in it.

Who this suit is for

Festive daywear and occasions in warm weather — a puja, a lunch, a daytime function. Pink is soft rather than loud, and the thread work lifts it above a plain suit.

Stitching

Stitching is a separate service, charged on top of the fabric price. Message us with what you need and we will confirm the cost and the timeline. Stitched orders take 7–15 working days before dispatch.

Care

Dry clean only. Chanderi needs it regardless, and thread embroidery pulls in a home wash. Never iron directly over the embroidery — press around it, or from the reverse with a cloth in between.
