Rama Green Leaf Print Cotton Suit

This is a rama green cotton suit with a leaf print, supplied as a 3-piece set with a matching cotton dupatta. It needs no lining, can be hand washed at home, and is stitchable to your own measurement up to size 5XL. It is part of our Rozana collection — the everyday range.

What you receive

  • Shirt — cotton, 2.5 m
  • Bottom — cotton, 2.5 m
  • Dupatta — cotton, 2.5 m
  • 3-piece unstitched set, 7.5 metres in total

What rama green is

Rama green is a specific shade in the Indian colour vocabulary — a deep green with a distinct blue lean, sitting somewhere between emerald and teal. It is named for Lord Rama, who is traditionally depicted in that colour, and it has long been a favourite in ethnic wear because it holds its richness in daylight where a yellower green can look flat.

It is not the same as bottle green, which is darker and cooler, or parrot green, which is bright and yellow-leaning. If you have looked for this shade before and found it hard to describe, rama green is the word for it.

The leaf print

A leaf print sits differently from a floral. Flowers draw the eye to individual blooms; leaves run quieter and more evenly across the cloth, so the print reads as texture rather than as a pattern demanding attention.

On rama green it is a natural pairing — green ground, leaf motif — which is why the suit reads as calm rather than busy despite carrying pattern across all three pieces.

No lining needed

All three pieces are cotton, and the fabric is opaque enough to be stitched without a lining. That saves you buying extra fabric and paying your tailor to attach it, and it keeps a layer of heat off you in summer.

Hand washable at home

This suit does not need dry cleaning. Hand wash it in cold water with a mild detergent, and dry it in shade rather than direct sun to protect the print. For a suit you will wear often, that is the difference between something you reach for and something that waits for a trip to the cleaner.

Where it fits in your week

An office day, errands, a school run, a family lunch, a Gurudwara Sahib visit, a kitty party, an ordinary afternoon. Rama green is deep enough to feel considered without being festive, so it works as easily on a Tuesday as at a daytime function. Stitch the shirt as a straight-cut with palazzo for the easiest everyday shape, or as an A-line with churidar if you prefer something more traditional.

Stitching this suit

The suit is supplied unstitched, so the neckline, sleeve length and fit are yours to decide. It can be stitched up to size 5XL. The print is even across the cloth, so it takes most cuts well. StudioJazz offers a stitching service; share what you have in mind and we will discuss it with you. Unstitched orders are dispatched within 48 working hours; stitched orders take 7 to 15 working days depending on the work involved.

Care

Hand wash only, in cold water with a mild detergent. Dry in shade rather than direct sunlight — sunlight is harder on a printed cotton than washing is, and a deep green fades more visibly than a muted shade. Wash separately the first time, as cotton prints can release a little colour on the first wash.

Shipping

Dispatched within 48 working hours of order confirmation and delivered across India in 3 to 7 business days. Free shipping on orders above Rs. 1,500. StudioJazz has shipped to 13 countries; international shipping is available on request.

A note on colour and print

Natural variation in colour and print placement is characteristic of cotton and is not a defect. Rama green sits between green and blue, so it can read greener or bluer depending on the light and on your screen.

Frequently asked questions

What colour is rama green?

A deep green with a blue lean, sitting between emerald and teal. It is named for Lord Rama, who is traditionally depicted in that colour.

How is it different from bottle green or parrot green?

Bottle green is darker and cooler. Parrot green is bright and yellow-leaning. Rama green sits between the two, deep but with a blue cast.

Does this suit need a lining?

No. All three pieces are cotton and the fabric is opaque enough to stitch without one — saving you the lining fabric and the tailoring to attach it.

Can I wash this at home?

Yes. Hand wash in cold water with a mild detergent and dry in shade. This suit does not need dry cleaning.

What fabric is it?

Cotton — shirt, bottom and dupatta.

What's included and how much fabric?

Three pieces of 2.5 metres each — shirt, bottom and dupatta — 7.5 metres in total.

Is this suitable for summer?

Yes. It is cotton, it needs no lining, and it carries no heavy surface work — three things that keep a suit cool through a long day.

Will the colour fade?

A deep green fades more visibly than a muted shade. Dry and store in shade, and wash separately the first time.

Is this a festive suit or an everyday one?

Everyday. It is part of our Rozana collection, made for regular wear rather than occasions — though rama green is deep enough to carry a daytime function too.

Can this be stitched to my size?

It can be stitched up to size 5XL, and the neckline, sleeve length and fit are yours to choose.

Do you stitch it, and what does that cost?
