Rusty Orange Bandhani Print Suit

A rusty orange unstitched suit set in gajji satin, carrying a bandhani print with zari work at the neckline, and a matching dupatta finished with gold piping and corner tassels.

What's Included

  • Shirt: Gajji satin — 2.5 m
  • Bottom: Taffeta — 2.5 m
  • Dupatta: Gajji satin — 2.25 m long, 28 inches wide

Please note: Lining fabric is not included and needs to be purchased separately.

A Note on the Print

This is a bandhani print, not bandhani tie-dye. The pattern is printed onto the fabric rather than made by tying and dyeing the cloth. It gives you the bandhani look at a print price, and we would rather say so than let you assume otherwise.

Design Details

  • Zari work at the neckline, worked as a long panel with a mirrored lattice
  • Bandhani print in rusty orange with magenta and pink borders
  • Deep printed border along the shirt hem
  • Gold piping along all four sides of the dupatta
  • Tassels at all four corners of the dupatta

About Gajji Satin

Gajji satin is a dense, smooth satin-weave fabric with a deep lustre, traditionally used as the base for bandhani work in Gujarat and Rajasthan. It takes colour richly, which is why the print reads far more saturated here than the same design would on a lighter cloth. It also has more weight and fall than a plain satin, so a stitched kurta from it holds its shape.

Stitching & Size

This is an unstitched suit set, so you can have it tailored exactly to your measurements. The fabric can be stitched up to size 5XL. Point out the neckline work to your tailor before cutting, so the neck is shaped around it.

Occasion

Made for wedding functions and festive occasions, and a good choice for Karva Chauth — for the sargi morning or the evening itself. Rusty orange is a traditional festive colour, and the set also suits mehendi, sangeet and family gatherings.

Care

Dry clean only. Store folded in a soft cotton bag, away from direct sunlight. Use a low-heat iron with a pressing cloth, and avoid ironing directly over the zari at the neckline.
