Three different surfaces, said plainly

The shirt carries applique — shapes cut from one fabric and stitched onto another, which gives raised, layered texture rather than a flat printed surface.

The dupatta is chikankari-style with a block print. Not hand chikankari from Lucknow — the style, machine worked. We name it that way because genuine hand chikankari costs several times this, and you should know which one you are buying.

The bottom is plain cream cotton, which is what stops the set from becoming busy.

No lining needed

The cotton is opaque enough to wear on its own — one less layer, one less line on the tailoring bill.

How to wash it

Hand wash in cold water with a mild detergent. Dry in shade. Wash separately the first time.

Blue on cream needs the separate first wash more than most — any colour that releases has a pale ground right next to it. Do not wring, and do not iron directly over the applique: tugging loosens the stitching that holds the shapes down.

Stitching

Stitching is a separate service, charged on top of the fabric price. With applique, agree the placement with your tailor before cutting — the motifs are fixed on the cloth, so where they land depends on how it is cut. Stitched orders take 7–15 working days before dispatch.

Care

Hand wash only, cold water, mild detergent. Dry in shade. Wash separately the first time. Do not wring. Iron on medium, never over the applique.
