Said before anything else: this is art silk
The shirt and bottom are art silk β a man-made fibre. This is not silk, and we do not sell it as silk.
We put that at the top rather than the bottom because this is our most expensive piece, and at this price you would be entitled to assume otherwise. You are paying for the embroidery and for work placed to your own measurements, not for the fibre.
The dupatta is chinon β a fine, fluid cloth that drapes softly against the firmer art silk.
White is the hardest thing to do well
There is no colour to carry a design and nothing to disguise an imprecise stitch. On white, embroidery either holds up to close inspection or it does not β which is why most heavily worked pieces are made in deep colours instead.
The green dupatta is what keeps the set from reading bridal. White with white would be a wedding outfit; white with green is a festive one.
Why this one is different from an ordinary suit
On a regular embroidered suit the work is already fixed to the cloth and your tailor cuts around wherever it falls. Here the layout is planned first. You tell us your height, whether you want a short or long slit, and how much flare β and the work is placed to suit the garment you are actually going to wear.
That is what a Luxe Edit piece is, and it is why it takes longer and why it cannot be resold.
Ordering for a date?
Message us with the date. We will tell you honestly whether it can be done in time rather than take the order and hope.
Who this is for
Evening functions, receptions, a family wedding where you are not the bride. A considered piece rather than a seasonal one.
Not for you if you want silk, if you need it quickly, or if you want to be able to send it back. All three are off the table here, and we would rather you knew now.
Dispatch, payment and returns β read before ordering
- Dispatch: 7 working days. The work is placed to your order, not picked off a shelf.
- Prepaid only. No Cash on Delivery. Two reasons: this is a customised piece that cannot be resold if a delivery is refused, and it is above our βΉ6,000 COD ceiling in any case.
- No returns or exchanges. Made to your own measurements and specification, so it cannot go back into stock. A manufacturing defect, transit damage, or the wrong item being sent are unaffected β see the FAQ.
- Delivery 3β7 business days after dispatch, with a tracking link.
- Free shipping applies.
Care
Dry clean only. Art silk loses its finish in a home wash, chinon distorts if wrung, and white shows every mark a wash leaves behind. Never iron over the embroidery β press from the reverse with a cloth in between.
Frequently asked questions
Is this real silk?
No. The shirt and bottom are art silk, which is a man-made fibre. We state that plainly because at this price it would be reasonable to assume otherwise. What you are paying for is the embroidery and the made-to-specification work.
What is the dupatta made of?
Chinon β a fine, fluid cloth that drapes more softly than the art silk shirt and bottom. It is green, against the white of the rest of the set.
Why is this your most expensive suit?
The embroidery, and the fact that its placement is planned around your measurements rather than fixed in advance. Not the fibre.
Is it stitched?
No. You receive the fabric pieces. Stitching is a separate service, charged in addition.
What does "made to your specification" mean?
You give us your height, your slit preference (short or long) and how much flare you want. The embroidery is then placed to suit that garment, rather than being pre-fixed and cut around.
What size can it be stitched to?
Up to 5XL.
How long does it take?
Dispatch in 7 working days, then 3β7 business days for delivery within India.
Can I order this for a wedding date?
Message us with the date before ordering and we will tell you honestly whether it can be done in time.
Can I pay cash on delivery?
No. This piece is prepaid only β it is customised, and it is also above our βΉ6,000 Cash on Delivery ceiling.
Can I return or exchange it?
No. Customised orders cannot be returned or exchanged. Claims for a manufacturing defect, transit damage, or the wrong item being sent are unaffected: email a 360Β° unboxing video to care@studiojazzldh.com within 24 hours of delivery. Approved claims are settled as store credit valid 12 months.
How do I clean it?
Dry clean only. Never iron directly over the embroidery.
Is shipping free?
Yes.
