Before you stitch

We recommend lining the shirt. Mul is fine and soft, and a lining gives the kurta better fall and opacity. Taffeta is what we suggest. The lining fabric is not included in this set — your tailor can source it in a matching dusty pink.

Styling it

Because the embroidery is tonal, this suit can take a little more jewellery than a contrast-worked piece. Pearl or rose gold sits beautifully against the pink; oxidised silver works if you want it cooler. Keep the neckline simple so the placket vine stays the focus — a round neck or a narrow V. Straight-cut shows the hem border best.

Care

Hand-wash separately in cold water with a mild detergent. Do not wring or soak. Dry in shade to hold the pink. Iron on the reverse, working around the embroidery and beadwork rather than over it. Mul softens with every wash.
