Grey is the useful one

Grey is the only true neutral in this range. It doesn't lean warm the way our light brown does, so it takes silver and oxidised jewellery cleanly, and it doesn't tie itself to a season the way a colour does.

If you buy one suit a year and want it to go everywhere, this is the one that argues with nothing in your wardrobe.

Print and lace are two different things

The pattern across the fabric is printed. The Chantilly lace is separate — a fine net lace with a floral character, used as trim rather than covering the piece.

Listings often fold the two together as "work". They aren't the same thing, and the difference shows up in both the price and the care.

The fabric

Georgette is light, matte and slightly crinkled, with real drape — it falls rather than holds a shape, which suits a soft kurta better than a structured one. It is not a cooling fabric; lightweight and breathable are not the same thing.

The bottom is crepe, which falls similarly and keeps the set consistent.

Who this suit is for

Office events, a formal lunch, a quiet function, anywhere you want to look considered without announcing it. Grey also photographs without casting colour onto skin, which strong shades sometimes do.

Not the one if you want to stand out. This is deliberately restrained. For a festive occasion where you want colour, the mustard or teal green in the same fabric and lace will do more.

Dry clean only. Georgette distorts if hand washed and wrung, and Chantilly lace is fine net that snags on almost anything. Keep the iron away from the lace entirely. Store folded flat or padded; georgette creases set and stay.

Not over the lace. Press the plain georgette on a low setting, well clear of the worked areas.
