About the colour

Mustard is the warm, deep end of yellow — earthy rather than bright, with enough weight in it to hold its own. It is not butter yellow and not gold: those go pale under strong light, where mustard stays saturated.

That makes it one of the few yellows that works in daylight and under evening lighting both, which is unusual and worth knowing if you're buying for more than one function.

Print and lace are two different things

The pattern across the fabric is printed. The Chantilly lace is separate — a fine net lace with a floral character, used as trim rather than covering the piece.

They often get folded together under the word "work". They are not the same, and the difference affects the price and the care.

The fabric

Georgette is light, matte and slightly crinkled, with real drape — it falls rather than holds a shape. It suits a soft, flowing kurta better than a structured one. It is not a cooling fabric; lightweight and breathable are not the same thing.

The bottom is crepe, which falls similarly and keeps the set consistent.

Who this suit is for

Festive wear across the year — Diwali, a haldi, an autumn function, a family celebration. Mustard reads warm in photographs and sits well against both gold and oxidised silver.

Not the one if you want something cool or pale. This is a warm, saturated colour. For something quieter, our sea green or light brown in the same fabric and lace will suit you better.

Care

Dry clean only. Georgette distorts if hand washed and wrung, and Chantilly lace is fine net that snags on almost anything. Keep the iron away from the lace entirely. Store folded flat or padded; georgette creases set and stay.

Can I iron it?

Not over the lace. Press the plain georgette on a low setting, well clear of the worked areas.
