Before you stitch

We recommend lining the shirt. Muslin is fine and soft, and a lining gives the kurta better fall and opacity. Taffeta is what we suggest here. The lining fabric is not included in this set — your tailor can source it, and either mustard or off-white works with this colour.

Styling it

The dori placket is the focus, so keep the neckline simple — a round or boat neck lets the work sit as intended. Straight-cut is the natural silhouette here; an A-line also works if you want more flow. Pair with oxidised silver or pearl jhumkas rather than gold, and let the white in the embroidery be the second colour rather than adding a third.

Care

Hand-wash separately in cold water with a mild detergent. Do not wring or soak. Dry in shade to hold the mustard. Iron on the reverse, working around the dori work rather than directly over it. Muslin softens with every wash.

What is dori work?

Dori work uses a fine cord stitched onto the fabric to build a raised outline. On this suit it forms the white placket pattern and the small buti motifs across the shirt and dupatta. It is machine-worked here.

Does this suit need lining?

We recommend lining the shirt for better fall and opacity, and we suggest taffeta. A lining piece is not included in this set — your tailor can source it in mustard or off-white.

How do I wash it?

Hand-wash separately in cold water with a mild detergent, dry in shade, and iron on the reverse, avoiding the dori work directly.

Yes, we do stitch suits. Stitching takes 7 to 15 working days depending on the design, and charges depend on the work involved — message us on WhatsApp and we'll confirm before you order.

Within 48 working hours of order confirmation. Delivery is usually 3–7 business days after dispatch. Orders placed on Sundays or holidays are processed the next working day.

Can I return it?

We follow a no-return policy except where the product arrives with a manufacturing defect, is damaged, or is different from what you ordered. Approved claims are resolved as StudioJazz Store Credit, valid 12 months.
