This cut is 2.25 metres, giving a shirt length up to 45 inches. Several of our suits run to 2.5 metres. If you wear long kurtas, measure one you already own first.

We publish the figure because it is the most common reason an unstitched suit disappoints, and almost no one states it.

Olive and mustard

Two warm, muted tones against each other rather than a colour against a neutral. It is an unusual pairing for cotton daywear, where most prints go bright on white, and it is the reason this suit looks less like everything else on the rail.

Both colours are forgiving in daylight and neither shows dust the way a pale base does.

No lining needed

The cotton is opaque enough to wear on its own — one less layer, one less line on the tailoring bill.

How to wash it

Hand wash in cold water with a mild detergent. Dry in shade. Wash separately the first time.

Some colour releases on the first wash, as it does with any strong cotton dye. Washing it alone that first time is the whole precaution, and shade-drying keeps the olive from going grey.

Hand wash only, cold water, mild detergent. Dry in shade. Wash separately the first time. Iron on medium while slightly damp, avoiding the neck work.
