Zari is metallic thread and tarnishes with moisture and perfume — let perfume dry fully before dressing, store the suit in a cloth bag rather than plastic, and never iron directly over the zari. Fold along different lines each time you store it; repeated folding in the same place wears a zari border faster than wearing it does.
