About the colour

Purple is the reason to choose this one. It holds its depth under artificial light, which most festive colours don't — a lot of pinks and yellows flatten out once the sun goes down. With zari catching the light against it, this suit is at its best in the evening.

Said plainly

The dotted pattern is a bandhani-style print. Genuine bandhani is tied knot by knot before dyeing, by hand, and costs several times this. Ours reproduces the look as a print, and we'd rather tell you that on the product page than have you discover it when it arrives.

The dupatta border is Banarasi-style weaving on muslin. Banarasi describes how the border is woven, not the fibre. There is no silk in this suit.

The zari is metallic thread, embroidered rather than woven in. It is lovely and it is fragile, which the care notes cover.

Who should buy it

Good for a sangeet, an evening reception, Diwali, a night function where you want colour that doesn't wash out in photographs.

Look elsewhere if you want something light and summery. Purple with metallic work reads rich, not breezy. For a daytime function in high summer, one of our cottons will serve you better.

Care

Dry clean only. Water and detergent damage zari, and muslin needs professional handling regardless. Do not put an iron on the zari embroidery — turn the piece over and press the reverse through a cloth. Perfume and hairspray tarnish metallic thread, so spray before you dress.

We don't accept returns for change of mind. Claims are limited to a manufacturing defect, transit damage, or the wrong item being sent, and need a 360° unboxing video sent to care@studiojazzldh.com within 24 hours of delivery. Approved claims are settled as store credit valid 12 months — we don't issue monetary refunds.
