Sea green, not teal

Sea green is the pale, soft end of the green range — cool, a little grey in it, closer to a mint than to a jewel tone. If you're weighing this against our teal green suit in the same fabric: teal is deeper, bluer and better under evening light. This one is the daytime version.

Pale greens are unusually forgiving in strong sun, where brighter colours flare and darker ones go heavy.

Print and lace are two different things

The pattern across the fabric is printed. The Chantilly lace is separate — a fine net lace with a floral character, used as trim.

Most listings fold both into the word "work". They aren't the same, and the difference affects both the price and how you care for it.

The fabric

Georgette is light, matte and slightly crinkled, with real drape. It falls rather than holds its shape, which suits a soft kurta better than a structured one. It is not a cooling fabric — lightweight and breathable aren't the same thing, whatever the market says.

The bottom is crepe, which falls similarly and keeps the set consistent.

Who this suit is for

Summer daytime functions — a mehendi, a lunch, an engagement in the morning, a festival in the heat of the year.

Not the one for an evening reception. Pale colours lose definition under artificial light. If you're dressing for the night, the teal green or the maroon will serve you better.

Care

Dry clean only. Georgette distorts if hand washed and wrung, and Chantilly lace is fine net that catches on almost anything. Keep the iron away from the lace entirely. Store folded flat or padded; georgette creases set and stay.

Dry clean only. Georgette distorts when hand washed, and the lace snags easily.

Can I iron it?

Not over the lace. Press the plain georgette on a low setting, well clear of the worked areas.
