STITCHING AVAILABLEAsk us for stitching

SHEESHA — black and magenta crepe with real mirror work, made to your specification.

You receive the fabric pieces, not a finished garment. Stitching is available as a separate service and is charged in addition.

What you get

  • Shirt: crepe — 3 m
  • Bottom: crepe — 2.5 m
  • Dupatta: crepe — 2.5 m
  • Colour: black with magenta
  • Work: mirror work (sheesha)
  • Stitchable to size 10XL

The mirrors are real

Sheesha — also called shisha or abhla — is mirror work: small mirrors held to the cloth by a ring of thread stitched around each one. Not printed to look like mirrors, not sequins standing in for them. Actual mirrors, each one anchored by hand-worked thread.

That is what gives the piece its movement. Mirrors throw light in a way flat embellishment cannot, which is why this reads differently under a chandelier than it does in a photograph.

It also means the piece needs handling — see the care notes.

Sizing, said properly

This piece stitches up to 10XL. The shirt is cut at 3 metres rather than the usual 2.5, and that extra length is where a larger size comes from.

Most unstitched suits stop at 5XL. If finding festive wear in your size has been the problem, this is one of the pieces in our range that solves it.

Why this is different from an ordinary suit

On a regular embellished suit the work is already fixed to the cloth and your tailor cuts around wherever it falls — which with mirror work can mean losing mirrors to a seam. Here the layout is planned first. You tell us your height, whether you want a short or long slit, and how much flare, and the work is placed to suit the garment you will actually wear.

That is what a Luxe Edit piece is, and it is why it takes longer and why it cannot be resold.

Ordering for a date?

Message us with the date. We will tell you honestly whether it can be done in time rather than take the order and hope.

The fabric

Crepe — a matte, finely textured fabric with good weight and a soft fall. It holds mirror work better than a sheer fabric would, because the weight keeps the mirrors sitting flat rather than dragging.

Who this is for

Evening functions, sangeets, receptions — occasions with light to catch. Black with magenta is a strong combination rather than a subtle one.

Not for you if you want something low-maintenance, or if you need it quickly. Mirror work needs care, and made-to-specification means no returns.

Dispatch, payment and returns — read before ordering

  • Dispatch: 7 working days. The work is placed to your order, not picked off a shelf.
  • Prepaid only. No Cash on Delivery. A customised piece cannot be resold if a delivery is refused.
  • No returns or exchanges. Made to your own measurements and specification, so it cannot go back into stock. Manufacturing defect, transit damage or a wrong item sent are unaffected — see the FAQ.
  • Delivery 3–7 business days after dispatch, with a tracking link.
  • Free shipping applies (prepaid orders of ₹3,000 and above).

Care — mirror work needs it

Dry clean only.

Never iron over the mirrors. An iron will crack them and can melt the thread ring holding them. Press only the plain areas, on low, from the reverse.

Mirrors catch on jewellery, bag straps and other fabrics. Store the piece folded with a cloth layer between the worked areas rather than pressed against itself.

If a mirror ever works loose, it is the thread ring that has given, not the fabric — any tailor can re-anchor it.

Frequently asked questions

Is this real mirror work or printed?

Real. Actual mirrors held to the cloth by a ring of thread stitched around each one — not a mirror-effect print and not sequins.

What is the largest size this can be stitched to?

10XL. The shirt is cut at 3 metres to allow for it, where most suits give 2.5.

What fabric is it?

Crepe — matte, finely textured, with enough weight to hold mirror work flat.

What colours is it?

Black with magenta.

How much fabric is included?

3 metres for the shirt, 2.5 metres each for the bottom and dupatta.

Is it stitched?

No. You receive the fabric pieces. Stitching is a separate service, charged in addition.

Can I iron it?

Never over the mirrors — an iron cracks them and melts the thread holding them. Press only the plain areas, on low, from the reverse.

What if a mirror comes loose?

It is the thread ring that has given rather than the fabric, and any tailor can re-anchor it.

How do I clean it?

Dry clean only.

What does "made to your specification" mean?

You give us your height, your slit preference (short or long) and how much flare you want. The mirror work is then placed to suit that garment, rather than being pre-fixed and cut around — which on mirror work matters, because a seam through the wrong place costs you mirrors.

How long does it take?

Dispatch in 7 working days, then 3–7 business days for delivery within India.

Can I pay cash on delivery?

No. This piece is prepaid only, because a customised piece cannot be resold if a delivery is refused.

Can I return or exchange it?

No. Customised orders cannot be returned or exchanged. Claims for a manufacturing defect, transit damage, or the wrong item being sent are unaffected: email a 360° unboxing video to care@studiojazzldh.com within 24 hours of delivery. Approved claims are settled as store credit valid 12 months.

Is shipping free?

Yes, on prepaid orders of ₹3,000 and above.
