Thread work, not mirror work

The shirt carries thread embroidery — no mirrors. We say so plainly because suits in this style are often sold under names that imply mirror work or a regional craft tradition, and this is neither. It is thread work on plain cotton, and it is priced as such.

The plain shirt against printed bottom and dupatta is the other thing worth noticing: it is the reverse of the usual arrangement, and it means the embroidery has room to be seen.

Read the measurement before you order

This cut is 2.25 metres, giving a shirt length up to 45 inches. Several of our suits run to 2.5 metres. If you wear long kurtas, measure one you already own first.

We publish the figure because it is the commonest reason an unstitched suit disappoints, and almost no one states it.

No lining needed

The cotton is opaque enough to wear on its own — one less layer, one less line on the tailoring bill.

How to wash it

Hand wash in cold water with a mild detergent. Dry in shade. Wash separately the first time.

Wine is a deep dye and it will release colour on the first wash. Washing it alone that first time is the whole precaution. Keep it out of direct sun, which lifts dark cotton faster than anything else.

Do not iron directly over the thread work — press around it, or from the reverse with a cloth in between.

Who this suit is for

Everyday wear with a bit more to it than a plain print. Wine is deep enough to carry through the cooler months and forgiving enough for a working day.

Stitching is a separate service, charged on top of the fabric price. Message us with what you need and we will confirm the cost and the timeline. Stitched orders take 7–15 working days before dispatch.

Care

Hand wash only, cold water, mild detergent. Dry in shade. Wash separately the first time. Iron on medium while slightly damp, never over the thread work.
